for some reason bandcamp gives you things called download credits. i didn't know anything about this until about a month ago. its an interesting idea...bandcamp doesnt make money and neither does the artist but the music lover gets something on the house and me bein a music lover that sounds okay...every now and then, if you get what i mean. so i wanted to use these up because i have heaps and put together this ep of 5 of my songs that i wrote and recorded quite some time ago with matt walker off the duo albums (except 1, she is in your dreams, which is off muscle drum music volume 1). they are all songs i sing and matt is doin the harmonies. i always used to love singing with matt. truth be told when i first saw/heard matt it was his voice that got me in the most. there is one track on this ep that matt sings called i can tell, a tale about not being able to get over someone, and it really is a great vocal take. they are pretty much all toe tappers, mostly something to do with love, or missing someone, or screwing up...we all know the story there...except bulk haulage. i had written the music for this but did not have a lyric. i loved the sound of the words bulk haulage and it had to be a truckin song but i just couldnt hook into anything. so one night on the bob dylan/patti smith tour me and matt were doing i asked if i could ride in one of the semi's lugging the gear on an overnighter from brisbane to sydney...where our next gig was. they said sure and put me in with a couple of wild truckers. we pulled out round 11.30, i sat up the front and we hooned it thru the night down the highway. they told me heaps of stories and i asked a lot of questions. what you have in that song is them. i had to cut and paste, add a bit here and there to make it fit but thats thier stories. you cant get these tracks on my solo albums, except for she is in your dreams. im puttin it out there for free and have clicked the button that says no money. hope you enjoy it. best to you thru these crazy times.
